CUSTOMER REVIEW
I first want to say that this is a great torch, I was really impressed by the flame, the design, and the overall feeling of quality.
As with any good thing, there are usually a couple negatives as well, but they are relatively minor. The first being the safety mechanism is a little bit awkward to use, but i remedied that by breaking it off with pliers. (very easy to do, it's just a small plastic tab)
The second issue I'm having is that I've tried using 2 different brands of butane and both won't make a good seal on the filling nozzle. So I don't know if there is a specific butane this one likes, or what? If anyone has any tips for me in that regard, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Note I would like to add since I have been using it more: The flame level adjustment is fairly useless on mine, it has a long range from - to + but it really doesn't change it at all until you are almost all the way to - and it lowers the flame but its easy to accidentally lower it too much and put it out. So basically the flame is at the same exact level for about 90% of the range, and you have to carefully work within the 10% of the range if you want to lower the flame without putting it out. This is not a big deal to me, but I just wanted to let people know if they needed to utilize this feature.
UPDATE: I have tried Calibri, Ronson, Coleman and Zippo brand butane. All of them partially work and you can get it mostly filled, but they don't make a good seal and a decent amount of butane escapes every time I fill it. It appears that the metal intake on the torch is larger than the filling nozzle on most butane refill bottles. So it can't really make a good seal and as a result, some butane is lost in the filling process. I'm still hoping someone will eventually find one that works well and let me know. Also just to clarify I have several butane lighters and I've never had this issue, so it's not a user error. Blazer 189-9274 Firefox Mini Torch, Butane, Refillable, 2,500 Degrees F Blue Torch Flame
